I Thought That My Blog Needed Some More Color

This is our little stretch of country in the city. And actually it is not even ours..the city of Tampa owns it. But to have those "woods" behind the house is sort of comforting. It reminds me of back home sort of.
I took this pic one afternoon while taking a walk with the kids back there. Walk is sort of pushing it...lol. It's not like up north where you could go out and walk forever. This is actually one of our routes to a friend's house from our house, a short-cut. OK, I am rambling and need to get back to those pictures...lol

So I am once again sitting here listening to my own radio stations on Pandora, and I have it on The Joan Jett and the Blackhearts station. Totally love that as well...Joan Jett kicks ass!! I love tough females like her.

Ok so back to The Dollyrots. I am so seriously digging what I have been able to hear of them so far. I think that I have only heard maybe 3 of their songs so far, but with each one of them I found myself nodding my head like, "Hell Yeah!" And that is such a good thing for me. I love music that makes me feel something. Love, anger, sorrow, pain...Like you can totally feel it.

Here's another Dollyrots song playing now...And I love that kind of boppy, punky feeling to this band. Makes me want to pogo around the room and just let go, have fun. I love this kind of music!

I am organizing them all into more manageable folders..for example the kids each have their own folder and then I also have a folding for pics of the two of them together. I am really hoping that this system will be relatively easy to be able to find pics in the future. I had started out burning the pics onto cd's by just leaving everything in the folders that they originally were, but when I thought about it, it did not really make a lot of sense to do it that way. I usually have a certain person in mind when I am looking for a photo, so having them burned onto discs by name made more sense. I am also starting to feel like I could really get into making a slide show, complete with music and all that stuff. Maybe some sort of special effects...but since this would be a first time ever experience I am thinking that I should probably take it easy and not totally overwhelm myself like I tend to do most of the time. I think that is why the idea of making a slideshow in the past was really overwhelming. Just the number of pics on the computer was overwhelming. I am going to save some pics on the computer, but for the most part I will just save them on disc. I got really freaked out when there was the possibility of losing all my kids pics from the past 2 years or so. That is a lot of memories missing, and let me tell ya, that feeling really fuckin' sucks!! Anyhow...I have been wasted enough time...back to my pics.<<<

Another band I am really starting to dig is The Donnas. I have never really had the opportunity to listen to too many of their songs before Pandora. I tell you what...I so love that site. Whomever thought that concept up, I want to shake your hand man. You fuckin' rock!!! lol

"Don't Cry" by Guns N' Roses...this song still makes me feel so damn sad. It reminds me totally of Bradley. I miss that boy like crazy and I am so mad at him for never giving himself the opportunity to even meet his niece and nephew, for never giving them a chance to have an Uncle. They see the pictures but they don't really get it. Hay will point at the pictures on the wall and ask me..Uncle Bradley? He's in heaven...

Anyhow, that's depressing so I have decided to change the theme of this blog. I have Pandora on the Pop/Hair metal station so I have decided to blog about the songs that I hear and what they remind me of.

So the next song to play is "Youth Gone Wild" by Skid Row. Kinda ironic that they played Skid Row right after G N' R. Totally made me think of the concert Jody and I went to where I screamed so loud I lost my voice that night and all day in school the next day. And I think that was the day that someone stole Jodi's "medicine" out of her purse...lol And I had to wear tape across my back because my shirt said "Get in the Ring Motherf@cker. My dad hated that shirt and it somehow "mysteriously" disappeared, never to be seen again...I wish I still had that damn shirt. Come to think of it, my other G N' R shirt disappeared as well never to be seen again.

"Love Song" by Tesla. Hmmm, this one really makes me think of hanging at Jimmy's and Jimmy himself. This is truly an awesome song. So pretty. So much love and longing in the lyrics.

"Oooh yeah,
Love is all around you"

Such a beautiful positive song. Actually I think that this song may be more relavent to today then it was to back then. Because actually everything that is said in this song could be taken as actual advice. Like maybe I should try to let someone in close to me again.

OK, so now any Poison absolutely reminds me of Jimmy. But more specifically of Jimmy coming over to Mike and Kathy's to "hang out" with me while I babysat "all weekend". Man, those were definately some good times! I always think of us babysitting when I hear either Poison or The Eagles because those were the only 2 good CD's M&K owned and because we were so countrified we have really shitty radio stations.

Ok, again this reminds me of Jodi. We used to love the first 2 Crue albums. We were addicted to the cow bells and to Tommy Lee..lol And I wonder why that was? Yes, even then we just knew...hehe

Jodi...now there is one person I miss soooo soooo much. If there was a reason to go back to Ohio were there it is. I think that she is one person that would help me keep my sanity back there. I so do not want to have to move back there...

Nine Inch Nails @ Independent Days Festival 2007

Words cannot express how much I love Nine Inch Nails! Everytime I think that I have grown out of this love affair, I am dragged back in. This music brings out a raw sexual feeling in me. I have so many fond memories attached to NIN. I remember sitting in Utah at 19, eating shrooms, staring at a gorgeous mountain at about 6 in the morning listening to the Broken EP over and over. The first time I ate beans was to a soundtrack of that same EP as well. Ahhh, now that was a good night!

To me, Nine Inch Nails is raw sensuality. Great music to...ughh, well not really make love to..lol The music itself is like sex. I adore you Trent!

Oh, and the pic..not mine. I found it on the internet, I believe it was on FlirkR. Sorry for not giving credit to who shot it. It is a wonderful shot and I love that it matched my blog colors so I snatched it. Thanx!!

My thoughts on the 4th of July, 2008

This was a picture taking on a bridge between Tampa and St. Pete on our way to the beach to set off fireworks on the beach for the 4th of July. Yes, the date is wrong on the pic, I need to fix the settings on my camera. I just thought that this was such a pretty view and I wanted to capture it and the good feelings of the whole day. I live in Florida and we pretty much have fireworks for every single holiday so it has really been a long time since I have been excited to watch fireworks. I am not sure why, I guess that since they are set off so often it isn't really anything special. But this year we spent the 4th with friends and friends of friends and family of friends so it really turned out to be a really fun time! The spot we went to was perfect. There were tons of other people there setting off their own fireworks plus we could see across the Bay to where some city were setting off some of their own as well. It was freakin' awesome!!
